About the artwork and this collection
Original game: Square, 1984. These are selected images from the game’s original picture archive, alongside its title screen and the English reunion illustration. See Credits & history for the game’s background and sources.
Repeated pictures, credits-only cards and small animation layers are omitted. Some pictures recur or change during play. This is a collection of artwork, not a claim that every scene or branch has been played in the current English build.
The selected PNGs are unchanged. The page displays their pixel rows at twice their stored height, without smoothing, to restore the PC-88 display proportions. Wider pictures keep their full composition. Original puzzle symbols and decorative marks are preserved.
The reunion picture uses the existing English speech-bubble adaptation. Its Quest Pixel lettering adapts the Dragon Warrior (NES) reference by Patrick H. Lauke (redux), with revised glyph proportions and placement. Quest Pixel was developed with AI assistance under human review and is maintained by BrentW. The applicable font material is used under CC BY 3.0 Unported; read the font license. English lettering was placed in the original speech bubbles; the surrounding scene is preserved.
Original game artwork belongs to its respective rights holders and is excluded from the website’s code license. The font license does not grant rights to the game artwork.
