How Patch Quest DX handles information when you browse, apply and playtest.

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Your information stays off the project shelf.

You can browse without an account. If you choose to join a beta, we use your information to manage your application and tester access. Applicant details are not published on the website.

Who runs this website

Patch Quest DX is an independent game-localization project maintained by BrentW. This policy covers patchquestdx.com and its beta application and download services. For privacy questions, email patchquestdx@gmail.com.

Information we receive

How we use and share information

We use this information to sign you in, review applications, manage or revoke tester access, provide approved downloads, answer requests and protect the service. Authorized Patch Quest DX reviewers can privately see applicants' names, email addresses, linked sign-in providers, application answers and decisions.

We do not sell personal information, publish applicant profiles or use application answers for advertising. Service providers process information needed to operate the website and beta program. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse or a security incident.

Services that help run the site

GitHub Pages hosts the public website. Supabase provides beta sign-in, account and application storage, access checks and private patch delivery. Google or GitHub handles the sign-in you choose, and Gmail handles privacy correspondence. These providers may process information in countries other than your own and have their own privacy practices.

Browser storage and tracking

We do not run advertising trackers or website analytics. Beta sign-in uses storage for the current browser tab to keep your session and selected game. Signing out clears the site's local sign-in session; closing the tab normally clears its tab storage, although browser session restoration can preserve it. Signing out does not delete your account or application. Google and GitHub may use their own cookies during sign-in.

How long information stays

Account, application and decision records currently have no automatic expiry. We retain them to administer beta access until they are removed. Privacy correspondence is retained while handling the request and keeping a record of its resolution. Provider logs and backups follow the providers' retention processes; removing an active record does not necessarily erase every backup immediately.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can browse without signing in, stop participating, sign out, or remove the app's authorization in your Google or GitHub account. Removing provider authorization does not itself delete records already held by Patch Quest DX.

To request a copy, correction or deletion of your account or application information, email patchquestdx@gmail.com, preferably from the address associated with your account. The maintainer handles these requests manually and may need to verify account ownership. Do not send passwords, sign-in tokens, ROMs or disk images. Deleting an account ends its beta access; limited records may need to be retained for security or legal reasons, which we will explain if relevant to your request.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its date when our practices change. A link to this policy is available before beta sign-in and from the site footer.
