About the artwork and this collection

Original game: Square, 1986. Individual illustration credits have not been established. These images preserve the game’s artwork from recorded emulator frames. They are not newly drawn or AI-generated illustrations.

Scene images are cropped to remove the surrounding interface and dialogue. The title and ending screens retain their full composition. Pixel rows are doubled without smoothing for the same display treatment used in our Karuizawa gallery; the game’s colors and drawing are preserved.

This is a curated selection, rather than an exhaustive archive of every animation frame or unused drawing. Some scenes change as the story progresses. The gallery does not establish that every scene or text has been reached in the current English build.

Original artwork belongs to its respective rights holders and is excluded from the website’s code license. No license to reuse the artwork is granted.
