Known issues

Original-game inventory/save bug — preserved

Typing inventory can leave the original game in inventory mode after the panel closes. Saving afterward can record the wrong location, producing a garbled load label or reopening inventory when loaded. This was reproduced in both the Japanese original and the English build. The localization deliberately leaves the original behavior unchanged.

Tips & tricks

Prefer F5 for inventory

Use F5 rather than typing inventory. In the tested shopping-center scene, F5 preserved the correct location and passed an in-session save/load check. Other scenes have not all been checked, so keep separate save slots.

Keep commands short and specific

Start with a verb, such as look door, talk man or take oxygenmask. Use the full command words, and write compound objects such as oxygenmask and lasergun as one word.

Let story messages finish

Advance a Press Return or Hit Any Key message separately before entering your next action. Some events consume the next submission to continue the story.

Use the persistent-save tester setup

Keep multiple save slots and use the supplied writable-disk setup. A save that works only within the current session is not proof it will survive closing the emulator.

Optional little discoveries — optional hints

Try look cloud on the hill or faceback inside the shop. These optional gags have been observed in the English build.

PC-8801 disk sets and machine configurations need their own setup. Use the instructions for your exact package.
